Local Eats: Lakay’s Pansit

The city of Taguig is known for fancy local and international gastronomic destinations, which burst with perfectly fused flavors from all over the world. This fact is truly something to be proud of about this part of the metro. Yet, behind these posh spots is Lakay’s Special Palabok—a no-frills restaurant that speaks the first language of the Filipino palate.

Back in 1983, Lola Perfecta started selling palabok, a popular Filipino noodle dish, to fellow neighbors. She named her little start up business Lakay's. Through word of mouth, the delicious news began to spread until the business grew into a restaurant that has been the go-to palabok stop within Taguig for 32 years now and counting.

What’s to love about their pancit palabok? The sauce. The sauce goes beyond expectations, as its mouthwatering color and thick texture, smothered with generous amount of prawn crackers, tinapa powder, chicharon chunks, and hard boiled eggs, fill your mouth with perfectly melded flavors that are worth devouring over and over again.

Lakay's is proof that a great-tasting menu is what makes an excellent restaurant and a long-lasting relationship with the Filipino appetite to boot.
